Help spread the word about supporting the National Society through new subscriptions for the acclaimed American Spirit magazine. Here are some helpful ideas to increase your subscriptions: It can be added easily on the chapter dues notices.
Have a special collection box at each chapter meeting and select a lucky winner to award a subscription.
Make a donation to a local library.
Interest your family with a subscription for the holidays. If they are not already DAR members, this might encourage them to dig into their history a bit more!
Daughters
The bimonthly American Spirit Magazine also comes with a supplemental called Daughters. Together, the information that you will receive will keep you well informed of the accomplishments of DAR Daughters across the country. There is always a timely message from the President General, and important information from your national officers and chairmen. Don't forget those well-researched articles of special interest to anyone who wants to learn more about our patriotism, education, and our history.
Each year Virginia is recognized in the September/October issue. If you have not already looked, please check out the beautiful ads submitted by each district. Each chapter which has submitted their remittance towards their district ad is listed in the ad and will receive credit towards their Chapter Achievement Award.
