Meetings

Our chapter meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month, September through May.

Our History

Celebrating over 10 years of service to the community, Mine Run Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in 2006 by Ms. Debbie Sue DeHart in Rhoadesville, Virginia.

Behind the Name

Mine Run has been named as such since the 1700’s. It is a small but prominent water feature in Eastern Orange County. There were early explorations for gold and other minerals along its course. Many road orders during the Revolutionary era state “to the Mine Run Bridge”. It is still well known in the area today. Currently, there is still a small village there.

Our chapter works with local schools to support DAR Scholarship contests, American History essay contests, and DAR Good Citizens awards. We contribute to Wreaths Across America and the Patawomeck Indian Tribe of Virginia, and we participate in various events in support of our veterans and men and women in military service to our country. We work to promote historic preservation at various sites in the area. #MineRunDAR
