Meetings

Our chapter meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, September through May.

Our History

Celebrating over 60 years of service to the community, Virginia Frontier Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in 1953 by Miss Mary Meares Galt in Lexington, Virginia.

Behind the Name

Forty years after the first settlers came to what is now Rockbridge County, the War for Independence began. Our future county seat was named for the Battle of Lexington, 1775, and many men from our Virginia Frontier fought under their new Commander-in-Chief, George Washington. It was fitting that our chapter’s name honor those rugged pioneers.
