Chapter Information for
William Taylor Chapter, NSDAR
Kenbridge, Virginia
Meetings
Our chapter meets from September through May at 2 PM usually on the second Saturday of each month with a couple of exceptions. Locations vary as we rotate throughout the counties.
Our History
The William Taylor Chapter was organized in 1955 in Kenbridge, Virginia, representing the counties of Lunenburg and Brunswick. There were 12 charter members at its first meeting. Since then, we have members from the two original counties as well as Nottoway, Mecklenburg, and Amelia.
Behind the Name
William Taylor served in the House of Burgesses from 1763 to 1768 and was Clerk of the Court in Lunenburg County from 1763 to 1814. In the House of Burgesses, he heard Patrick Henry’s rousing speech, and he was a strong patriot assisting with changing the laws of Britain to developing laws of the Articles of the Confederation and onto the Constitution.
Membership
From 1955 membership began at 12 and as of 2025 we have 99 members who represent many ages. We welcome new members! Use the process below to contact us.
